Acvila Air mit Basis in Bukarest/Rumänien tauchte in letzter Zeit öfter im Zusammenhang mit Vermietung von MD-80-Fluggerät an andere Fluggesellschaften auf. Vorwiegend hat Acvila Air eine Flotte von ex-USAir und ex-Continental      MD-80 in Ihrem Portofolio, die dann an Airlines wie Rwandair Express, Kish Airline, Aero Asia und Sierra National Airlines mit rumänischer Registration vermietet werden. Ob die Crews auch von Acvila Air stammen, ist mir nicht bekannt. Acvila Air tritt bisher nicht als eigene Fluggesellschaft auf. Offiziell werden im Frühjahr 2007 zwei MD-83 als Flottenbestandteil angegeben.

Im Mai 2006 wird bekannt, daß sich Acvila Air in "Jetran International Airways" umbenannt hat.

"In 2004 we have developed in our company a new field: passenger charte flights. These flights began with the dry-lease of an MD-82 aircraft wich has 142 seats configuration. The main goal that we want to acchieve is the implementation on the romanian market of an aircraft, who's operational cost are to be mutual benefic for the tour operators and for the company, and most important for the passenger. Along with the MD – 82 aircraft we are specialized in operating charter flights by A-320 aircraft, an world wide known aircraft for it's high performances and professional security standards. Besides these two type of aircrafts that we most use, Acvila Air Romanian Carrier is entitled and auhorised by the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority and by the international reglementations in the field of aviation to provide to the benefficiar any other type of aircraft suitable with his requests."
