Mit der Premjet wird
möglicherweise ein neuer britischer Betreiber der MD-80 die Szenerie
ergänzen. Ab London-Luton und Manchester sollen folgende Ziele bedient
werden: Faro, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Teneriffa und Paphos.
Außergewöhnlich mag sein, dass die eingesetzte MD-83 nur 80 Sitzplätze (mit
einem Sitzabstand von 127 cm!) bieten wird und somit ein "Premiumprodukt"
vermarktet werden soll. Ticketverläufe sollen Ende 2007 anlaufen, der
Betrieb soll im Frühling 2008 aufgenommen werden.

Premjet über die MD-83:
"In our selection of the Premjet aircraft we had four
main criteria: safety, comfort, reliability and performance. The aircraft
that matched our requirements was the Boeing/McDonnell-Douglas MD83.
This twin engined regional jet has an
impeccable safety record, and our aircraft are British owned and registered
with the Civil Aviation Authority. The maintenance on Premjet aircraft is
carried out by one of the most respected airline management companies in the
UK, and this gives us the confidence that our aircraft will always be
available to carry out our schedule of flights without disruption to our
passengers. The Boeing/McDonnell-Douglas MD83 is designed to carry up to 177
passengers in an economy-class layout. Premjet have removed over half of
these seats to configure the aircraft in a VIP arrangement consisting of
just 80 seats. The majority of scheduled airlines offer a seat pitch of
between 29" and 33" (73cm and 83cm), with business class products on
European routes offering up to 37" (94cm) The Premjet experience will offer
leather upholstered seats with extending leg rests and a minimum seat pitch
of 50" (127cm) putting us and our customers a class apart from other
European airline travel. A fast, comfortable jet, the MD83 has the
advantage of having its engined mounted on the rear of the fuselage, which
makes for a more comfortable and quieter journey for those passengers seated
aft of the wing
